The Cats
Ninjin: Born 2/1992
Ninjin was adopted as a kitten in April of 1992. He was our second cat at the time, as we had acquired Cynder a 17 year old cat (sorry, no pictures. She was pre-digital pictures) at the house we used to live at. Cynder took some time to get used to Ninjin, but eventually he won her heart. Ninjin is a loud mouth cat who will let you know when he wants to come in, eat, go out, etc. He was quite the hunter in his day, but spends most of his time these days parked on the couch.
Winston: Born ~ 2/1992
Ninjin brought Winston home about 9 years ago. He was an adult, unneutered male cat. We used to call him "Ninjin's friend" or "the white cat" and he would run away if he even caught a glimpse of us. On the day we were moving to a new home, he came up to me limping. He had never let me even get close to him much less pet him, but he looked so pitiful and I was stressed from moving so I decided to grab him and throw him in a cat carrier. I took him to work (the veterinary hospital) and told them to check out his leg, FeLV/FIV test him and neuter him and I would be back in two days. He ended up being a super sweet boy and I took him to our new house. Eddy said he could only stay while he was on antibiotics for his bite wound (that is why he was limping) and then I had to take him back to the old house. Well, once they come to our house they don't leave and he has been ours ever since. He is now Winston, a.k.a "The Dirt Cat" because he never grooms himself and he loves to lay in the dirt!
Horton: Born 8/1996
Horton was abandoned by his feral mother when he was only a couple of days old in the summer of 1996. A friend of Eddy's knew I raised orphan kittens and called us to come pick him up. Horton had spent the entire night outside by himself and he was cold, hungry, and covered in fleas. As you can see he hasn't missed many meals since then! He is very much a momma's boy and he LOVES our dog Lucy. Weighing in at about 23 pounds, he is also known as the "Hortonator"!
Salmon: Born 5/1997
Salmon was another orphan kitten. He walked into one of my client's office buildings at about 2 weeks old looking for food. Eddy and I were supposed to be going on a romantic weekend to the coast the next day so, the kitten had to go with us. While on the trip, Eddy gave this tiny, little kitten a big chunk of smoked Salmon and I was worried that he would choke on it so I tried to get it back from the kitten and he hissed and spit at me to defend his salmon. We laughed so hard at this tiny, little kitten acting so tough and decided to name him Salmon.
