Lucy was adopted from C.A.R.E Rescue organization in September of 1999. Her name when we adopted her was Phoebe, but since we were newlyweds, we decided to name her Lucy, after Lucy Starr, the woman who performed our wedding ceremony. We had just bought our first home and Eddy promised me a dog when we bought a house. I had been looking for a couple of weeks when I attended the weekly showing of dogs at C.A.R.E rescue. I saw Lucy in a cage by herself and Michelle, her foster mom, told me that she had raised a litter of her own puppies, plus two chow pupies that had been orphaned. I knew then that she was the dog for me since I also raise orphan babies. I adopted her the next day and she has been our baby ever since.
